Finance

Subscriptions are due on the 1^st November a= nd have been sent out via email and other letters are in the foyer.

For the first time the club have offered 9 hole member= ship to Members who are 75 years of age and have been a full member for 25 yea= rs. The rate is 60% of the full subscription.

In accordance with the criteria for CASC registration = all grades of membership are open to both men and women. For further information see Secr= etary Steve.

All subscription payments must be made by the due date= as this considerably helps the financial position and reduces administration= .

Our= yearly audit will be carried out on Club accounts week commencing November 9^{th
2009.}

The= club has made significant savings during the past year which we anticipate will br= ing encouraging results when the accounts are published.

Members should ensure that the Secretary has their Email address. = Future newsletters and invoices will be sent in this way, which greatly reduces postage costs.

House

Competition cups and shields have been cleaned= ready for prize giving. Thanks go= to Carol & John Wilkinson, Ladies Captain Nan, Julie Wilson, Anne Purcell and Janet Hathaway for removing, cleaning and replacing all trophies in t= he cabinet.

Winn= ing team photographs have been framed and hung in the foyer.

Hang= ing baskets have been sown with winter flora. Thanks go to John Smedley for supplying and maintaining this attractive addition to the club house. <= /span>

Team Results

Men: The North Kent Trophy team played in the final against Cherry Lo= dge at Dartford on Saturday 26^th September. After a hard fought battle with four matches going to the final hole Sidcup just lost 3-2. = Thank you to all the many members who attended and supported the team.

Ladies: Sidcup Golf Club Ladies are to introduce a nine hole competition, similar to the Jack Hicks men’s competition.

Juniors: = ; Nothing t= o report.

Golf :

It h= as been agreed to add £1 to all monthly medals to raise money for the junior section. This will be addit= ional to bonus ball money.

The Captain-Pro play off is to be re-scheduled.

Mike Bush, who plays on the omega= tour, is actively seeking sponsorship for next year. Prospective sponsors should cont= act the Captain or the Secretary.

From the Greens

All = greens have been verti drained and top dressed with little effect to playing conditions..

The = height of cut for the putting greens has been raised from 3mm to 5mm.

The Captain’s in house charity has sponsored £2,400 to purchase groomers for the greens machine

Appl= ication of worm repellent to fairways will take place in the coming weeks.

Fusa= rium has been seen to have started on two greens, spraying will take place this we= ek weather permitting.

Penn= y wort floating weed is back in the lake opposite the club house, this will also= be sprayed his week weather permitting.&nbs= p;

Irrigation System<= /p>

A ne= w floating pump head is being built to suspend the extraction pump higher in the water. The pump will be hou= sed underneath surrounded by a filter. The purpose of this work is to improve extraction performance and = to protect the pump. .

Practice Putting Green

The = Greens Chairman would like to thank the following for their help in building the= new putting green. Billy Badcoc= k, Mick Clegg (PSM Plant Hire), Ted Fenwick, Roy Kefford, Brian Austin, Steve Armstrong, Gary Jones and Laurie Fagg. The Board would like to thank Dave Denning for all his hard work.

A sp= ecial thanks to Martin Franklin, without whose expertise this project would nev= er have happened. Also martin’s brother Mark and son in law James.

The Board would also like to expr= ess their thanks to all members of the “100 club” for their fundi= ng of £5,100 which paid for this project.
